Terms of use

These terms apply when you use SoWhere. They are short on purpose. If you disagree with them, please do not use the site.

Using SoWhere

SoWhere is operated by SoWhere. Reading the guides is free and needs no account. Use the site as it is meant to be used: do not attack it, overload it, copy it in bulk or try to reach what is not yours.

Guides are information, not advice

A guide describes a place and rates each month on weather, crowds and cost. Ratings are our assessment, not a forecast and not a promise. Entry rules, visas, safety, health requirements, prices and opening hours change, and a guide can be out of date the day after we check it.

Before you book or travel, check the official sources: your own government's travel advice, the destination's official entry requirements, and the businesses you plan to use. A guide never replaces them.

Plan requests

When you ask for a plan you give us your email address and your trip details, and we use them as the Privacy notice describes. Asking for a plan is not a booking, and we do not promise a plan by a date.

A plan is a suggestion. We do not book anything for you, and a place being in a plan or a guide is not an endorsement of it.

Accounts

Give us accurate details and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. You can delete yours at any time from Data & privacy.

Content and photos

The text, data and design of SoWhere belong to SoWhere. You may link to any page and quote a short passage with credit. Copying the guides in bulk, or republishing them, needs our written permission. Photos are credited on each page and stay under the licence of their author, usually Creative Commons.

Liability

We work to keep SoWhere accurate, but we provide it as it is. As far as the law allows, SoWhere is not responsible for losses that come from relying on a guide or a plan, such as a closed attraction, a changed price, a refused entry or a missed booking. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not let us limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.

Changes

We may change the site and these terms. When the terms change, we change the date at the top; using the site after that means you accept the new terms.
